Flow uses a proof of stake consensus mechanism that requires validators to stake a certain number of FLOW tokens to participate in the network. FLOW is native token of the Flow network and serves as payment for network services, deposit for data storage, validator nodes launcher, сollateral for secondary tokens and governance.
