Over Decred

Decred is a hybrid blockchain, which combines the two most popular consensus mechanisms, proof of work and proof of stake. On a proof work blockchain computer "miners" compete to process transactions and earn a reward. On proof of stake chains people are assigned blocks to mine according to how many tokens they hold. DCR tokens can be sent, received, staked, used to vote on future project developments and can participate in the consensus process.
