Revolut business account: plans, costs and features at a glance
Vivid Editorial Team

The Vivid editorial team writes about company formation, finance and self-employment, with practical guides on business accounts, taxes and funding for founders and the self-employed.

The key points at a glance:

  • Revolut Business in short: four plans, from €10 a month up to €125, plus Enterprise on request. There is no permanently free plan. The emphasis sits on currencies: more than 30 of them, exchange at the interbank rate within a monthly limit, and taking payments online and in person.
  • The point almost everyone gets wrong: in Germany the business account runs on a Lithuanian IBAN. Country-specific IBANs exist for Business in seven countries only, and Germany is not among them; German IBANs are announced for the end of 2026. On top of that come allowances on local transfers, no DATEV connection and no standard cashback.
  • Vivid as the alternative: €0 a month on the Free Start plan, open to every legal form up to a GmbH and UG, a German IBAN, unlimited SEPA transfers with no per-transfer price, as many accounts as you need each with its own IBAN, and investing straight from the account.

With the Revolut business account, a lot comes down to one question that rarely sits at the top of a comparison: how much of your business happens abroad? If you invoice in euros and send your figures to a tax adviser who works on DATEV, you will run into different snags than someone who bills in four currencies. That second person is exactly who Revolut had in mind.

Anyone searching for the Revolut business account also lands between two products that are easy to mix up: the standalone business account and the free Pro account inside a personal Revolut login. This article is about the business account. It takes the four plans apart, settles the IBAN question with the official source, names the limits, and puts both accounts side by side at the end. All figures come from the official Revolut pages and were read in August 2026. Prices change, which is why there is a dated note at the bottom.

What is the Revolut business account?

Who Revolut Business is built for

Revolut Business is the business account of Revolut Bank UAB, run through the app and the web app, and designed for companies that work across borders. The product page puts three things up front: global payments, multi-currency accounts and expense management. For a company account at Revolut you need a registered and active business in a supported country. Freelancers and sole traders qualify, as do limited companies such as a GmbH, UG and AG, along with partnerships such as a GbR, OHG and KG. Not eligible are charitable organisations, the public sector and cooperatives.

One sentence for context, because it explains the IBAN later on: the banking licence sits with Revolut Bank UAB in Lithuania, and in Germany Revolut runs a branch supervised by BaFin. For day-to-day account use that means little at first. For the account number printed on your invoices it means a great deal.

Revolut Pro or Revolut Business

This fork costs most people a round of research, so here it is up front: Revolut Pro is not a standalone business account but an additional account inside the personal Revolut account. It costs €0 a month, comes with its own Pro card, and is aimed at freelancers who keep business spending apart from private spending. Up to 1% cashback is available there with the Pro card, and the rate depends on the personal plan. Revolut still asks for proof of business activity.

The second product is called Revolut Business: its own login, its own team members, plans from €10 a month, payment acceptance, spend controls and accounting connections. If you want to use Revolut as a business account for a GmbH or a UG, there is no way past Business, because Pro hangs off the personal account. That answers the question about a free company account: a full business account for €0 a month is not part of the Revolut range.

Revolut Business plans and costs

What the Revolut business account costs you depends on two things: the plan you pick, and how many transfers and currency exchanges land on top. Account maintenance fees based on transaction volume, the kind traditional institutions charge, are not part of the Revolut model. The base price is still only half the bill.

The four plans at a glance

Prices for Revolut Business start at €10 a month. The provider tiers the account in four steps: Basic, Revolut Business Grow, Scale and Enterprise on request. What changes between the steps is almost always quantities: how many local transfers are free, how many international transfers, how much exchange at the interbank rate. The table shows the values from the official plans page.

Revolut Business Scalefrom €1251,000 per month25 per month€60,000 per monthHigher limits and card personalisation
Revolut Business Enterprisecustomon requeston requeston requestIndividual limits and account management

The real cost mechanics sit underneath the table. Above the allowance, every further local transfer costs €0.20 and every further international transfer €5. Exchange more than the monthly limit allows and 0.6% is added to the amount, or 1% outside market hours. Ten free transfers on the Basic plan go quickly when rent, insurance and a few supplier invoices leave in the same month.

What every plan includes

The shared base of the Revolut Business account is broad, and it starts with currencies. You open as many multi-currency accounts as you like, send and receive in more than 30 currencies, and pay by card in more than 150. On all four plans you also get:

Unlimited team members with individual access rights, at no extra price per head.
Up to 3 physical cards per team member and up to 50 virtual ones, with card controls for limits, categories and spending periods.
Bulk transfers to up to 1,000 recipients at once, plus standing orders and scheduled payments.
Payment acceptance online and in person: Revolut Pay, payment links, invoices, e-commerce plug-ins, Tap to Pay and terminals from €139.
A savings account with interest paid out daily and access at any time.
Customer service in German, around the clock in the chat.

Two items are billed separately. Withdrawing cash at an ATM costs 2% of the amount outside the plan limit, and a cash deposit is not provided for at all. The expense tool for receipts and travel costs runs on top at €8 per person a month.

Interim conclusion on costs: the account starts at €10 a month, and local transfers are capped by plan. At Vivid, SEPA transfers run without limit and with no charge per transaction, and you get as many accounts as you need, each with its own German IBAN. Both are already included on the Free Start plan for €0 a month, which is open to a GmbH and UG as well.

Features of the Revolut business account

What the account brings, the one Revolut calls the Revolut Business Account, sorts into five areas: payments and currencies, the IBAN, cards and spend control, the accounting connection, and the money products.

Payments and currencies

This is where the emphasis sits. More than 25 currencies can be exchanged at the interbank rate, as long as the monthly limit lasts and the markets are open. After that the surcharges from the section above apply. Local transfers run as SEPA transfers, international ones over SWIFT, and payments between Revolut accounts go through with no fee.

Two tools come on top for currency risk: forwards, which lock in a rate for a 0.8% fee, and, from the Grow plan, limit and stop orders. Anyone invoicing purely in euros pays for both.

One detail about collecting money: the account handles SEPA Core direct debits as the payer, and a SEPA B2B direct debit can be filed in the app with a signed mandate. According to the help centre, neither freelancers and sole traders nor companies up to €2m in revenue or balance sheet total are eligible for it. Cash deposits are not provided for. At Vivid, accounts in foreign currencies come with the Basic plan.

Which IBAN the account gets

This question drives most of the searches, and almost everywhere online it is answered wrongly. The Revolut Business help centre is unambiguous: Revolut offers country-specific IBANs for business accounts in France, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain and the United Kingdom. Germany is not on that list. The wording there is: "If your country is not listed above, your account will be assigned a Lithuanian (LT) IBAN." Right below it comes the outlook: "We are actively working to offer German (DE) IBANs by the end of 2026."

So why does something else circulate everywhere? Because Revolut runs two things in parallel. If you hold a business account with Revolut Bank UAB, you are inside that system. Personal customers resident in Germany, by contrast, have long been moving to the German branch and getting a DE IBAN. That does not carry over to business accounts automatically, and the help centre spells it out: country-specific IBANs offered for personal accounts may not be available for Revolut Business accounts. If you expect a German IBAN on the Revolut business account because a headline promised one, check inside your own account first.

Legally the matter is unremarkable, and Revolut says so itself: within SEPA all IBANs are treated equally, and an LT IBAN works for local SEPA transfers. In practice, friction remains. Some payment partners ask questions when the account number starts with two foreign letters. At Vivid the German IBAN is the standard, and every additional account brings its own, so sub-accounts for VAT, projects or reserves stay cleanly separated.

Cards and spend control

On cards the account counts high: up to 3 physical and up to 50 virtual per team member, plus stainless steel Metal cards from the Grow plan, one free of charge, two from Scale, and €57.99 for each further one. Card controls belong to every plan: limits, permitted categories, accounts, currencies and spending periods can be set per card.

From Grow the account grows from card administration into expense management: approval rules, finer account access rights, incoming invoices fetched automatically, purchase orders for two-way matching, cash flow analytics and Business APIs. A team of five notices that immediately, a solo self-employed person rather less so.

Bookkeeping and interfaces

The integrations page lists a long row of German and international tools: Lexware Office, sevdesk, BuchhaltungsButler, Billomat and Accountable sit there next to Xero, QuickBooks, Dext Prepare, Dynamics 365 Business Central and Sage. Revolut speaks of more than 45 accounting tools. The connection pulls categories, labels and tax rates out of the software, and statements and receipts go back.

A DATEV connection is not listed there. This is exactly where many German companies pay attention, because a large share of tax advisers work on DATEV. Without an interface the route runs through the accounting software or through exports, and every month one intermediate step stays with you. At three hundred bookings that is an appointment.

Savings and money market funds

You can put balances to work inside the account, and Revolut solves that with two products. The savings account pays interest out daily, the rate depends on the plan and sits between 1% and 2.25% p. a. (variable). From the Grow plan, Flexible Money Market Funds in euros, US dollars and pounds sterling are added; for euros the plans page quotes 1.24% to 1.94% APY as of 15 June 2026, provided through Revolut Securities Europe UAB. Buying and selling crypto is possible as well, more than 300 tokens, with a fee between 1.49% and 0.49% depending on the plan.

A securities portfolio with stocks and ETFs is not part of the business account. Anyone who wants to invest company liquidity more broadly needs a second provider.

Limits of the Revolut business account

Read up on experiences with the Revolut business account and you keep meeting the same six points. That is no accident. They hang off one basic decision: the account is built for cross-border business, not for the German standard case of euro invoices, direct debit collection and DATEV bookkeeping.

No free plan: the entry point starts at €10 a month. Only Revolut Pro is free, and that hangs off the personal account.
Lithuanian IBAN: business accounts in Germany are assigned an LT IBAN, and German IBANs are announced for the end of 2026.
Allowances on transfers: 10 local transfers on the Basic plan, then €0.20 per transaction. International transfers cost €5 from the first one on Basic.
No DATEV connection: more than 45 accounting tools are connected, DATEV is not among them.
No standard cashback: the business account does not settle card payments with a cashback rate. Rewards for business tools are available from Grow.
B2B direct debit with exclusions: freelancers, sole traders and companies up to €2m in revenue or balance sheet total are not eligible according to the help centre. Cash deposits are not provided for in any case.

These points are not a verdict but a question of fit. For an agency invoicing in euros, dollars and pounds, the LT IBAN weighs little against exchange at the interbank rate. For a trade business with German customers and a tax adviser on DATEV, the same list tips the other way.

Interim conclusion on the limits: Revolut Business serves internationally active companies with an account that has currencies and spending under control. If you need a German IBAN, expect SEPA transfers with no per-transfer price, run your bookkeeping through DATEV or want to collect cashback, you find exactly that at Vivid on the Free Start plan for €0 a month.

Opening a Revolut business account

Account opening runs entirely online. Revolut quotes about ten minutes for the form, after which a team reviews it, and once approved the account is ready to use. Before that you need a registered and active business, the identity documents of the authorised representatives, and details of your business activity. So a Revolut business account can be opened as soon as the GmbH or UG is entered in the commercial register.

With the Pro account it works differently: there you add a Pro account inside the personal Revolut account, pick the category of your activity and supply proof, such as the commercial register entry, a website or a social media profile.

Alternatives to the Revolut business account

Eight criteria, two accounts, one table. It puts the Revolut business account and the Vivid business account side by side: what the entry costs, who the cheapest plan is actually open to, which IBAN comes with it, and what you get in accounts, currencies, investing and cashback. The values are as of August 2026, and the current terms are with the respective provider.

Vivid as an alternative to Revolut Business

Revolut is built for companies with an international footprint, and for currencies the account brings a lot along. If you need a German IBAN, expect SEPA transactions with no per-transfer price, run your bookkeeping through DATEV or want to collect cashback, you keep looking after that. This is exactly where Vivid comes in.

What Vivid Business offers

The Free Start plan costs €0 a month and is open to every legal form, from a freelancer through a GbR to a GmbH and UG. Vivid does not charge SEPA transfers per transaction, without limit, on this plan too. The IBAN is a German one, and it does not stay the only one: you open as many accounts as you like, each with its own IBAN, so VAT, project budgets and reserves run separately.

Investing sits inside the same business account: stocks, ETFs, iBonds, money market funds and crypto, plus model portfolios and an interest account for balances that are resting. The DATEV interface belongs to it, and you write invoices directly in the account. From Basic, accounts in 22 currencies and international transfers are added.

And then there is the cashback. Depending on the plan, the guaranteed rate on all purchases sits between 0.1% and 1%, with no monthly cap, and up to 10% in selected categories. It runs from the Free Start plan onwards.

The Vivid plans at a glance

Vivid runs Free Start for €0, Basic for €6.90 and Pro for €18.90 a month, with the Enterprise plans above them for larger teams. Every plan carries the previous one along and adds something on top. The cashback rate and the interest on balances rise with each step.

PlanPrice per monthCashback on all purchasesAccounts with their own IBANEnough for
Free Start€00.1%unlimitedGetting started, every legal form incl. GmbH and UG
Basic€6.900.2%unlimitedWorking in several currencies
Pro€18.900.5%unlimitedTeams with card rules and approvals

What the Vivid plan says is the amount that gets debited. Several providers quote net prices, with VAT added on top there. Otherwise you are comparing two different numbers.

What the €0 plan holds

Free Start is the plan where the difference is decided. Visa cards come virtual and physical, the DATEV interface and invoicing are built in, and the cashback runs from the first step. You invite team members at no extra price per person.

Do the maths once: where Revolut has a base price from €10 a month and caps local transfers by plan, they run here with no base price and no per-transfer price. Over twelve months that is the difference between €120 and nothing.

Basic and Pro: what comes on top

From Basic, accounts in 22 currencies and international transfers are added, the cashback rate rises and balances earn more interest. From Pro you unlock advanced card limits with rules for category, merchant and country, plus company cards for the team and approval flows for higher limits. Every step carries everything from the previous one along.

Investing and interest from the account

Stocks, ETFs, iBonds, money market funds and crypto sit at Vivid in the same place as the business account, along with model portfolios for companies that would rather not pick themselves. Balances that are not needed right now move to the interest account and keep working there. These products are provided through Vivid Money B.V.

For everyday use that means one thing: the tax reserve, the buffer and the investment run through one login instead of three providers.

Opening an account with Vivid

The application runs online. You enter the details about the company, identify yourself with a selfie alongside your ID document, and after the review the account is ready to use. If you are coming from another provider, standing orders and direct debits move over gradually. For a GmbH and UG in formation there is a founder account for the capital deposit before the commercial register entry.

Conclusion on Vivid: an account with a German IBAN, as many sub-accounts as you need each with its own IBAN, investing and cashback all in one login, from €0 a month and open to a GmbH and UG. If you want everything in one place instead of assembling a business account out of several tools, Vivid is the short answer.

Which business account suits whom?

If you need a German IBAN, you arrive at Vivid. The Free Start plan costs €0 a month and is open to a GmbH and UG as well: unlimited SEPA transfers with no per-transfer price, as many accounts as you need each with its own German IBAN, the DATEV interface, invoices in the account. Investing and cashback run from the same login.

Revolut Business comes into question when your revenue arises in several currencies, when you exchange at the interbank rate regularly and when payments come in from many countries. That is the shape the account is built for, and the tools for hedging currencies are ready there.

Conclusion on the Revolut business account

The Revolut business account is a fully digital account for companies that work across borders. The entry costs €10 a month, and for that you get more than 30 currencies, exchange at the interbank rate, card controls, payment acceptance online and in person, plus a savings account and money market funds.

The limits sit where the German everyday case begins: with the Lithuanian IBAN, with the allowances on local transfers, with the missing DATEV connection, and with the cashback the business account does not have. Vivid covers exactly that, at no extra price: a German IBAN, as many sub-accounts as you need each with its own IBAN, unlimited SEPA transfers, the DATEV interface, investing from the account and cashback, all from €0 a month and open to a GmbH and UG too. Which account fits, you decide by how much of your invoicing happens abroad.

Ready for a business account?

With the Vivid business account you get a German IBAN, as many sub-accounts as you need each with its own IBAN, investing and cashback with no monthly cap on all purchases in one app, for a GmbH and UG as well.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

  • What does the Revolut business account cost?

Costs start at €10 a month on the Basic plan, Grow is €35, Scale €125, and Enterprise is agreed individually. Local transfers are capped by plan (10, 100 and 1,000 per month), and above that each further one costs €0.20. International transfers are 0, 5 or 25 free per month, after which €5 applies.

  • No. Revolut Business starts at €10 a month. What is free is Revolut Pro, an additional account inside the personal Revolut account for freelancers with its own Pro card, but not a standalone business account. At Vivid, the Free Start plan is a full business account for €0 a month, and a GmbH or UG can use it just the same.

  • According to the Revolut Business help centre, no (as of August 2026). Country-specific IBANs exist for business accounts in France, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain and the United Kingdom; if the country is not on the list, a Lithuanian IBAN is assigned. German IBANs are announced for the end of 2026. The Vivid business account has a German IBAN, and every sub-account gets one of its own.

  • A few patterns repeat in the review portals. The app and the currency exchange get named, while the IBAN, the restricted direct debit collection for small companies and the responsiveness of support come up critically. We deliberately do not award a rating of our own here.

  • Yes. Revolut Business is open to limited companies, and the company has to be registered and active. Charitable organisations, the public sector and cooperatives are not eligible. The entry costs €10 a month. At Vivid, the Free Start plan for €0 a month is open to a GmbH and UG directly.

  • No. The integrations page lists Lexware Office, sevdesk, BuchhaltungsButler, Billomat, Xero, QuickBooks and more than 45 further tools, and DATEV is not among them. At Vivid the DATEV interface belongs to the account.

  • If a German IBAN, SEPA transfers with no per-transfer price, the DATEV interface and cashback should sit together, Vivid covers that from €0 a month, for a GmbH and UG as well. As many accounts as you need each with its own IBAN, and investing from the account, belong to that plan.
